2004-2005 Resident Company Understudy

Steven Anacker, an undersized underachiever, understands his role as understudy. The underground NYC improv troupe Short Order Theatre first took Steven under its wing back in 1993, and he’s been underwhelming audiences ever since. Under five years ago, this underappreciated underdog with the undeniable charm underwent the transformation into a Sunday Player with BATS Improv here in San Francisco. Although undereducated—with just an undergraduate degree in advertising—Steven has managed to undertake the writing of three screenplays featuring darkly comic undertones, as well as an undetermined number of commercials. Postproduction is currently underway for Disarmed, an under-twenty-minute film costarring Steven and the undeniably talented Robin Honan. Steven wears clean underwear to every Lila show in case a Resident Company Member ever feels under the weather.
