KATIE MAHANEY began her improv journey in high school, when she toured elementary schools performing Theatre Sports for children who mostly just wanted her to do impersonations of Baby Spice. She has studied improv at BATS, and she has a BFA in acting from UC Santa Barbara, where she premiered her original one person show, Welcome Back To Your Subconscious. Last year she was seen in California Shakespeare Theater’s production of The Tempest, directed by Lillian Groag. She is currently working on her stand-up comedy act, and the last time she put that in a program bio people laughed, so she hopes that means she might have a chance. Katie is thrilled to now be studying, playing and performing with Lila Theatre, and she would like to thank her family for all of their love and support, and for always encouraging her be herself.
