WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST

Elana Isaacs grew up in New Jersey (insert NJ joke), where at the age of seven, she got the acting bug wanting to be the next Meryl Streep or Carol Burnett. She went on a "triple threat" path, studying acting, dancing, and singing; starring in such productions as West Side Story, Pippin and the whimsical Children's Hour. Elana was a musical theater major at Syracuse University where she danced and froze her butt off, then took a left turn to discover that the performing arts were so much more than entertainment. She transferred to Oberlin College and started working with disadvantaged kids through theater and doing avant-garde/performance arty stuff, like movement-based improv, all of which she's been doing ever since - with the occasional turn of musicals like her favorite, One, a modern rock musical re-telling of the Siddhartha story, where she played Buddha's mom.

Elana's improv experience includes touring and

performing at the Chicago Improv Festival with "Brainwaves"a short-form troupe and with "Eddie May Murder Mysteries" on the Amtrak train from Pdx to LA. She recently moved to the Bay Area from Portland, Oregon and graduated from Tamalpa Institute for Expressive Arts Therapy and Education, and she can't get enough sun. She loves the YES of improv and is awed by the spiritual nature of the practice and the metaphors for life, which is why she's so (friggin') psyched and humbled to be a part of Lila.
